CARING FOR YOUR FURNITURE

The woods and veneers used for the furniture have been selected for their natural beauty and characteristic appearance. Wood is a unique product and as such no two sections are identical in grain , pattern and colour.New furniture may initially vary in shade from item that have been previously purchased or are displayed in our stores.

GENERAL CARE

Avoid exposing the furniture to excessive heat or direct sunlight as this can cause mellow, cracking and deterioration of the colour .A gentle wipe with a lint-free cleaning cloth in the direction of the grain is all that is required to maintain the matt finish.Any spills should be removed immediately with a damp cloth. Never put hot dishes directly on to wooden surface. We recommend you use felt backed table mats.

Depending on how much ear the furniture is exposed spots should be oiled frequently. That way your furniture will always have an adequate protection. However, if the surface of your table feels dry when you unpack it, you should oil the table before using it.

Remove any dirt and grease with soap and water. When done, remove all the moisture with a dry cloth. Afterwards, rub the oil in the direction of the wood fibres and leave it to draw for approximately 20 minutes. Then, wipe the surface dry with a cloth, otherwise it may be ruined. If any deep staines or marksare present, the surface may need to be sand papered before starting treatment. Remember that if you have to sandpaper a veneered piece of furniture , be careful not to damage the veneer.

Take care when moving the furniture and never drag the piece across the floor as this will cause damage to the joints.
